Milton Ride Report 24-4-05 with Ray, Norm, Mark & Kim
Ray - Husqvarna 250F
Norm - KTM 450EXC
Mark - WR250F
Kim - KTM 525EXC
We began riding at 0820 from Milton Fire Station.
Norm went into reserve about 20ks north of East Lynne and Ray said - "we must stick together so that if Norm runs out we can take off and leave him" !
I had a ride of Mark's WR250F and then Ray's Husky 250F for about an hour.
We came down to the Clyde River and Mark took across the river and someone said "looks a bit deep there !" so of course I took a different way - right into a deeper hole and I I tried to lift the front wheel but all I did was fishtail and nearly fall off !
Lunch was at East Lynne service station. Ray, Mark and I headed south to the powerlines as Norm had a sore back and shoulder. There were some trees across the powerline tracks due to logging and clearing which made it interesting. On the previous ride along the powerlines I was caught on a log on a steep uphill, and on this ride I did exactly the same thing DOH !
We were disappointed to cut the ride short at 220ks because of darkness. We arrived back to the cars at 1800 to find Mark had a flat rear car tyre which was fixed by the pit crew (ex Datsun 1600 rally racers) in record time. The boys were quick because they had ordered a pizza each and were worried that they would become cold (the pizzas, that is ha ! ).
