Fletch's Termeil to Araluen Ride.  24 & 25-3-07

We started out with 28 riders leaving from Termeil Servo at approx 8.30am before heading over to Shallow Crossing for lunch. We only got approx 5k's into the ride when someone fell off and had to return to the support car and he and his bike got a lift til lunch. We continued on our way with a few people having troubles with a few of the small hills. A lot of single line was covered before we got to lunch at approx 12. After lunch we headed towards Nelligen covering a lot of single trails. A long rocky river bed bought a few people undone and wore them out so the next 10km of single line was extremely hard work for some. After fuelling up at Nelligen we headed over to Araluen. At approx 3pm and almost there we had a little shower which cooled the day down greatly. We pulled into Araluen Hotel approx 4.30pm and enjoyed a great night of drinking and solving the worlds problems over a few quite beers. The hospitality was as always great. We headed out after breakfast at approx 9am. We found some nice slippery single line trails which were technical in places (just ask Brian Skinner), he ended up the wrong way in the middle of a worn out bridge. After retrieving Brian and his bike from the crater and fixing a smashed sight glass on a KTM we were on our way again. We covered some more open trails before stopping for lunch at Nelligen at 12. We headed out again after lunch riding on some great single lines in and around Big Bit before heading home on the single line trails out the back of East Lynn then onto the Apex single line back to Termeil. 2k's from Termeil a KTM lost his front sprocket. It was long until they found the bolt and got it going again. We all arrived back at the cars at approx 3.15pm. Over the entire weekend we travelled approx 310k's. We ended up with 30 riders after picking 2 up from Araluen Pub which headed over from Cooma on Saturday. Zero injuries and the weather could not have been kinder too us.
